Baylor Scheierman and Kristaps Porzingis led the Celtics to a win over the Nets

Antonio DiCesare

Rookie Baylor Scheierman, who the Celtics drafted in the 1st round of last year’s draft, stole the show against the Brooklyn Nets last night.

The former Creighton Bluejay came off the bench and scored a career-high 20 points and had 13 in the fourth quarter. He took advantage of his extra playing time as the Celtics were resting injured stars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Porzingis had 25 points and 13 rebounds.

D’Angelo Russell led Brooklyn with 18 points. Cameron Johnson had 11 points, and Ziaire Williams had 15.

Baylor Scheierman was fantastic last night. I watched him on TV when he was playing at Creighton. I saw a great shooter, a tremendous ball passer, and will do anything to help his team win.

I think he was a steal for the Celtics, and I am so happy they have this guy on their team.

Keep an eye on him because he will be a big part of this team, especially in the playoffs.
