Blake Snell throws his first career no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds

On Friday, Blake Snell threw his first career no-hitter with the San Francisco Giants, beating the Cincinnati Reds 3-0.

Snell pitched all nine innings, struck out ten, and threw 114 pitches, 78 for strikes. He wanted the complete game, which he has never done in 202 major league starts.

Snell recorded the 18th no-hitter in Giants franchise history and the third in the majors this season.

Houston Astros' Ronal Blanco's no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays on April 1st, and San Diego Padres Dylan Cease pitched a no-hitter against the Washington Nationals on July 25th.

Snell is among my top 10 pitchers in the league and on my all-time best pitchers list.
