Cooper Flagg and No. 9 Duke hold off No. 2 Auburn for an 84-78 win

Freshman star sensation Cooper Flagg had 22 points and 11 rebounds as Jon Scheyer and Duke beat Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers 84-78 at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham.

Isaiah Evans had 18 off the bench for Duke, along with teammates Tyrese Proctor with 12 pts, Sion James with 9 pts, Caleb Foster with 11 pts, and Kon Knueppel with 6 points.

Johni Broome led the way for Auburn with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Miles Kelly had 14 points and was 4 for five from 3-point range.

In this game, I saw a Duke team that fought from start to finish. They never led up and were able to make a statement against Auburn. Cooper Flagg is one of the best freshman players I have seen at Duke since I watched Jayson Tatum when he was playing at Duke.

Duke is one of my favorites to win the national title this season. I have them with Kentucky, Kansas, Arizona, Gonzaga, Auburn, and Michigan State as my other favorites.
