Drake Maye threw two TDs and had a rushing TD as Mike Vrabel and the Patriots got their first win in the new season, beating the Dolphins 33-27.
Mack Hollins and Kayshon Boutte were the guys who caught the touchdown passes from Maye. Rhamondre Stevenson finished the game with 142 yards, along with five catches for 88 yards and 11 carries for 54 yards.
Antonio Gibson had a 90-yard kickoff return, which gave the Patriots the lead at 33-27. Linebacker Marte Mapu made a massive play in the game by intercepting a pass from Tua Tagovailoa with over 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter.
Tua Tagovailoa went 26 of 32 passes, 315 yards, and two touchdown passes to Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane.
Patriots’ kicker Andy Borregales didn’t have a good start to the game, missing two extra points. Then, he redeemed himself with two field goals, one of which was from 53 yards away.
I thought the Patriots did a good job on offense and defense, but it’s a long season, and we still have a lot more games to keep getting better.
