Eagles rout the Chiefs 40-22 and deny them a Super Bowl three-peat

Antonio DiCesare

The Philadelphia Eagles have done it. They routed Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 to win their second title in franchise history.

Jalen Hurts was outstanding in the game vs the Chiefs. I saw someone who wanted to make a statement in the big game, and he delivered it. Hurts finished the game 17 of 22, with 221 passing yards, two touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and an interception. Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP.

The Eagles' defense completely frustrated Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense throughout the game. They had six sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble. I was impressed, and I think they have one of the best defenses I have seen.

Rookie Cooper DeJean got a pick-six on his 22nd birthday, and to me, this kid will be a great player in the NFL. Zack Braun also got an interception in the game as well. Josh Sweat pressured Mahomes all night long.

A.J. Brown and Davonta Smith each had a receiving touchdown in the game—Brown, a 12-yard touchdown, and Smith, a 46-yard bomb.

From what I saw, Mahomes was not on his game. He struggled to get the ball to his receiver but managed three touchdown passes.

The Eagles win their second title since 2017.

Congrats to the Eagles, the 2024 Super Bowl Champions!
