Florida Panthers are the 2024 Stanley Cup Champions

The Florida Panthers went into Game 7 against the Oilers and won 2-1 to win their franchise's first Stanley Cup.

Sam Reinhart and Carter Verhaeghe scored both goals for the Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky had 23 saves in the game and made big saves when his team needed it the most.

(Connor McDavid had 42 points in the Playoffs for the Oilers)

Connor McDavid wins the Conn Smythe Trophy, which goes to the player who is the most valuable player in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

He finished the playoffs with 42 points, the fourth-best all-time. He also set a playoff record with 34 assists.

He is the first player from the losing team to win the trophy since the Anaheim Ducks' Jean-Sebastien Giguere in 2003 and is the only forward since the Philadelphia Flyers' Reggie Leach in 1976.

He did not come out to accept Commissioner Gary Bettman's trophy but told reporters, "It's obviously, I guess, an honor with the names on this trophy, but yeah."

I like Connor McDavid. He is one of my favorite players in the NHL. I believe he will get his first Stanley Cup.

Congratulations to the Florida Panthers for winning their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
