Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills beat the San Francisco 49ers 35-10 on Sunday in the snow game to clinch the AFC East division for the fifth consecutive year.
Josh Allen was outstanding in the game and showed me why he deserves to be in the MVP conversation. He finished 13 of 17, passing for 148 with two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown.
Allen scored 247 career TDs (186 passing, 59 rushing, and two receiving) to break Hall of Famer QB Jim Kelly’s franchise record of 244.
Buffalo has won seven straight since losing back-to-back to Baltimore and Houston and is now 10-2 or better for the fifth time in team history. The first since 1991. They have become the eighth team, the first since the Indianapolis Colts in 2009, to clinch a division title with five games left.
The Bills are one of my favorites to win the Super Bowl this season because Josh Allen is an elite quarterback, James Cook is a top running back with incredible speed, and top receivers and tight ends like Amari Cooper, Curtis Samuel, Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Mack Hollins, Dawson Knox, and Dalton Kincaid. Plus, they have a defense that can sack the quarterback, make big plays on third down, and create turnovers.
I can see this team making some noise in the playoffs. If they want to win the Super Bowl, they have to beat big teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, etc.
