From my point of view, Carson Beck took over the game for Miami, especially in the 4th quarter. He took command down the stretch when his team needed him the most.
Beck threw for 268 yards with two touchdowns, an interception and ran for a score. While he was at Georgia, he had never started in a college football playoff, but he is leading Miami to the national championship game.
Miami WR Malachi Toney had five catches for 81 yards and a 36-yard touchdown off a screen pass from Beck, which gave the Hurricanes the lead at 24-19. Keelan Marion had seven catches for 114 yards and a 52-yard touchdown a deep pass from Beck which gave Miami the lead at 17-10 after Ole Miss tied it at 10-10 on a Lucas Carneiro 42-yard field goal.
Trinidad Chambliss threw for 277 yards with a touchdown pass. Kewan Lacy ran for 103 yards rushing and had a 73-yard touchdown. WR Dae ‘Quan Wright had three catches for 64 yards and a 24-yard touchdown pass from Chambliss.
To me, Carson Beck had the play of the game. In the final minutes of the fourth quarter, Miami were in striking distance of getting not only the game-winning score but a chance to go to the national championship at Hard Rock Stadium where they play their home games at. Beck took the snap and no one was open, he started running and ran in for the game-winning touchdown, a three-yard rushing TD which gave Miami the win at 31-27.
Miami will play either Indiana or Oregon in the National Championship Game.
