Gunner Stockton was outstanding yet again for the Georgia Bulldogs against #10 Texas Longhorns. He threw four touchdown passes, two to Noah Thomas, a 30-yard TD pass to London Humphreys, and a 6-yard TD pass to Lawson Luckie. He also ran for a score as Georgia got their sixth straight win on Saturday night.
Arch Manning threw for 251 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Texas (7-3, 4-2 SEC) saw its four-game winning streak come to an end and put its playoff hopes in significant jeopardy.
With # 4 Alabama’s 23-21 loss to # 11 Oklahoma earlier on Saturday, Georgia could move their position from where they are now into a position where they would have a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff. They also kept their hopes alive of defending their SEC Title.
Georgia needed another statement win on its resume, and I feel like it got it against Texas. But, with only two games left in the season, they need to keep their momentum going if they want to be in a good position when the College Football Playoffs begin in December.
Next game for Georgia:
