OKC Thunder won their 1st title in franchise history with a 103-91 win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 last night.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished his MVP season off on a high note with 29 points and twelve assists. Jalen Williams scored 20 points and Chat Holmgren had 18.

Oklahoma City won 84 games between the regular season and the playoffs, tying them with the 1996-97 Chicago Bulls team for the third most wins in any season.

Only the Golden State Warriors (88 games in 2016-17) and the Chicago Bulls (87 games in 1995-96) won more.

Bennedict Mathurin had 24 points and 13 rebounds for the Pacers.

The big news of the game was that Tyrese Haliburton went down with an Achilles tendon injury just seven minutes into the game. He is one of my favorite point guards in the league and is a true competitor. I wish him the best of luck with his recovery and hope he comes back ready to play again.

The Thunder are the ninth franchise to win a title in NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s 12 seasons. Also, they are the youngest team to win a title in nearly a half-century that has reached the NBA mountaintop.

Congrats to the OKC Thunder, the 2025 NBA Champions.
