U.S opens women’s Olympic tournament play with a 5-1 win over Czechia

Alex Carpenter opened the scoring on the power-play in the first period, her (1st), which gave the Americans a 1-0 lead.
In the 2nd, the U.S got three more goals on the board to increase their lead. They got goals by Joy Dunne (1st), Haley Scamurra (1st), and Hilary Knight (1st).
Czechia got on the board in the 2nd on a breakaway goal by Barbosa Jurickova (1st).
Scamurra scored her 2nd goal of the game in the 3rd to make the score 5-1 U.S.
It was a great opening-round game for the U.S., and they looked good. But still a long way to go.
The U. S’s next game will be tomorrow, Saturday, February 7th, against Finland. The game will start at 10:40 am on USA Network and stream on Peacock.
