U.S. Women’s Basketball wins Gold against France in the Final by one point

The U.S. Women's Basketball also went into the gold medal game against France yesterday and won by one point, 67-66.

The U.S. Women's won their eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal. Also, they have 61 straight wins.

The eighth straight gold medal broke a tie with the American men's program, which won seven straight gold medals from 1936 to 68.

It was the first time in Olympic history that both gold medal basketball games featured teams from the same countries.

A'ja Wilson scored 21 points for the U.S. and came through when her team needed it the most.

France's Gabby Williams had 19 points in the game and made the shot at the end, which was called a two-pointer because her foot was on the line.

The win gave Diana Taurasi six consecutive gold medals, making her the most decorated basketball player in Olympic history. She broke a tie with her longtime teammate Sue Bird, who won five.

Congrats to the U.S. Women's team on winning the gold medal in Paris
