UConn's Alex Karaban was outstanding in yesterday's Big East tournament quarterfinal game against Villanova at Madison Square Garden. He scored 18 points and is someone I can see as a player to watch in the NCAA tournament.
Solo Ball and Samson Johnson each had 11 points for UConn, and Liam McNeeley had 12 points.
Wooga Poplar scored 25 points for Villanova, and Eric Dixon scored eight.
UConn must prove they can win a third title in a row. They must play good defense, not turn over the ball, control the clock, and hold the lead.
Alex Karaban has to play his best basketball in the NCAA tournament because I see him as a leader, a great three-point shooter, and a lights-out defender. But everyone on this UConn team must play like a team and not as individuals.
I would closely watch Alex Karaban and the UConn Huskies in the big dance. They might surprise you.
