USA advance past Canada 5-3 and move on to the semifinals against the Dominican Republic

Aaron Judge had a double, and both Pete Crow-Armstrong and Brice Turang each had two hits in the game.

 

Bobby Witt Jr was one first base with one out when Judge doubled to center and Kyle Schwarber had an RBI ground out, which gave the U.S. an early lead.

 

Alex Bergman reached on an infield single and Judge scored on a throwing error by Canada’s third baseman Toro, two runs came in to score, giving the U.S. a 3-0 lead.

 

In the 6th, the U.S added on two more runs to extend their lead, thanks to an RBI singles by Brice Turang and Pete Crow-Armstrong.

 

Logan Webb had delivered an outstanding performance in the game against Canada, pitching four and two-thirds scoreless innings, while allowing just one walk and striking out five. In the ninth, Mason Miller came in and shut Canada down to seal the win.

 

Canada kept the game interesting in the sixth. With an RBI single by Black and Bo Naylor two-run homerun which made the score 5-3.

 

Up next for the U.S. is the Dominican Republic in the semi-finals on Sunday night at 8:00 pm on FS1
