On Sunday night, The U.S. Women’s Soccer team beat Columbia 3-0 in the Gold Cup quarterfinal and will advance to face Canada in the Semi-final on Wednesday.
Lindsey Horan got the U.S. on the board after Alex Morgan got tripped in the penalty box, which gave the U.S. a penalty shot. She scored it on the right side of the net and put her team up 1-0.
In the 21st minute, the outside back Jemma Nightswonger scored on a great pass from Alex Morgan to make it 2-0 on the 2nd goal that she has scored for her country.
Then, before halftime, Jaedyn Shaw scored on a cross from Trinity Rodman to give her team a 3-0 lead.
Let’s hope they can win on Wednesday against Canada and advance.
