USA Women’s Basketball gets a win against Japan in Olympic Opener

The U.S. Women's Basketball team played Japan in their first game of group play on Monday and won by a score of 102-79.

A'ja Wilson led the Americans with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks. Breanna Stewart had 22 points, and Britney Griner had 11 points and nine rebounds. All three dominated in the paint for the U.S. against Japan.

Other U.S. players who contributed to the game were Kelsey Plum, who had 11; Sabrina Ionescu, with 11; Naphessa Collier; and Kahleah Cooper, who scored four points.

They now have a 56-game Olympic winning streak that dates back to the 1992 Barcelona Games.

I think this team will be in the final and win another gold medal in these Olympics.

The Americans will play Belgium in their second group stage game on Thursday, August 1st, at 3:00 pm on USA Network
