Washington pulls away from Michigan in the 4th quarter and wins 27-17 in the national championship rematch

Antonio DiCesare

Washington Huskies quarter Will Rogers led the way for the Huskies and beat the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines 27-17 on Saturday night in the rematch of the college football playoff championship game.

Rogers was fantastic in the game against Michigan. He threw for 271 yards and had two first-half touchdowns, for a total of three.

Jonah Coleman’s 1-yard touchdown pass with 6:22 left gave Washington the lead in the 4th quarter.

The loss snapped Michigan’s 24-game Big Ten regular season streak. The Wolverines had not suffered a loss like this since losing to Michigan State on October 30, 2021.

Washington needed a statement win, and they got it. I wanted them to prove why they deserved to be in the Big Ten conference.

Will Roger is one of my favorite quarterbacks, and I believe he can lead this Washington Huskies team in the right direction.
