Yamamoto shuts down the Yankees, and Freeman homers again as the Dodgers win 4-2 and take a 2-0 series lead

Antonio DiCesare

The LA Dodgers went into game 2 of the World Series against the Yankees after winning game one on Friday, beating New York 4-2 and taking a comfortable 2-0 series lead.

Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto was fantastic in the game against the Yankees. He allowed only one hit over 6 1/3 innings with two walks and four strikeouts.

Freddie Freeman, who had the walk-off grand slam in game 1, homered again for the second straight night. Tommy Edman and Teoscar Hernandez also homered as well for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers' biggest concern heading into New York for three games is whether Shohei Ohtani can play after dislocating his left shoulder while sliding into second base.

Carlos Rodon gave up four runs and six hits over 3 1/3 innings. Aaron Judge went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts. He is now 1 for 9 in the series, and he's just hitting a .150 batting average with six RBIs and 19 strikeouts in 40 postseason at-bats.
