Derek Carr released by Las Vegas and hits the open market

Derek Carr was released by the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday and now will have to decide where he will play next. Carr was benched the final two games of the regular season because the Raiders would have owed him about $40.4 million in guaranteed money over the next two years if he remained on the roster beyond Tuesday. By releasing Carr, the Raiders salary dead cap hit will be $5.6 million next season.

Carr who was drafted by the Raiders in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft out of Fresno state. Having been playing with the Raiders for over nine seasons, Carr became the team’s career leader in passing yards (35,222) and touchdown passes (217).

So, the question now is where will Derek Carr play for?

There many teams who might need a QB like Carr on their roster.

The teams that would consider getting him include:

- Carolina Panthers

- Indianapolis Colts

- NY Jets

- Tampa Bay Buccaneers

- Washington Commanders

My opinion where think Derek Carr could be consider are:

- NY Jets

- Tampa Bay Buccaneers

- Carolina Panthers

- New Orleans Saints

- New England Patriots

- Cleveland Browns

Where ever he ends up and the team that gets him, they will be getting a great passer, a winner and leader.
