The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the slumping Yankees 4-2 on Monday night, and they are up 3-0 and one win away from winning the Title.
Freddie Freeman homered in the 1st inning, his (3rd) of the postseason, and has homered in three straight games.
Walker Buehler was dominated from start to finish, shutting out the Yankees and keeping them off their game. He pitched five shutout innings and allowed two hits, zero runs, two walks, and five strikeouts.
One of the best moments of game 3 was in the bottom of the fourth inning when Teoscar Hernandez threw out Giancarlo Stanton at home plate with a bullet throw from left field.
The only runs for the Yankees came at the bottom of the ninth inning, when Alex Verdugo homered to right, a two-run home run his (1st) of the postseason. It cut the lead to 4-2.
The Dodgers are one win away and will have a chance for the sweep. The Yankees haven't been swept in the Fall Classic since 1976 by the Cincinnati Reds.
In the previous 11 World Series meetings between the Dodgers and Yankees, the Dodger's lone sweep was in 1963, behind Hall of Fame pitchers Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale.
