Harvard beats Boston College in the Beanpot Semi-Final Game 1

Harvard Men's Hockey beat Boston College Eagles 4-3 in overtime in the semi-final Game #1 of the 2023 Beanpot at TD Garden in Boston.

Harvard scored the scoring going. First, Marek Hejduk scored his 3rd of the season to put the crimson up 1-0. Then in the second period, Matthew Coronato scored his 15th of the season on the power play off a fantastic pass from Sean Farrell to make it 2-0. It was 3-1 on Coronato's second of the game on the power play (16th).

Boston College started to make a comeback; Mike Posma scored his 4th of the year off a backhanded shot that was defected by Posma to cut the lead to 2-1. They made it 3-2 with 4:14 to play with a goal by Nikita Nesterenko, his 6th of the year. Then with 1:31 to go in the 3rd period, BC tied it with an extra attacker on Cutter Gauthier's 14th of the year.

In the final Seconds of the Overtime period, Marek Hejduk scored his 4th of the season and his second of the game with 1.5 seconds left to win the game for Harvard and advance to the Beanpot Championship game for the first time since winning the title in 2017.

For Harvard to beat Northeastern and win the Beanpot, they have to:

- Create turnovers

- Score early

- Use the Powerplay to their advantage

- Marek Hejduk and Matthew Coronato are key players that have to play their game and help lead their team

My prediction if Harvard wins:

Harvard 4, Northeastern 3
