Revs beat Columbus 1-0 at Gillette Stadium

The Revs played the Columbus Soccer Club at Gillette Stadium this past Sunday. The first half was a back and forth battle with the Revs having the most opportunities to get shots on net. The Rev’s offense was really clicking and the defense stood their ground and were able to stop Columbus’s offense. Despite the Revs getting the most shots on goal, Columbus’s goalkeeper was able to stop them from scoring.

In the second half, finally the Revs were able to get the goal they desperately needed. Adam Buksa scored the only goal of the game in the 86th minute off a cross from fellow teammate Brandon Bye, which made the score 1-0 Revs. Then, they had to really step it up on defense and stopped Columbus from scoring the tying goal. Sunday’s game was pretty evenly matched and it could have gone either way. Carlos Gil was able to help the Revs stay focused on the attack which allowed them to overcome the pressure in the end.

Next Game for the Revs is Saturday May 22nd vs the New York Red Bulls 8:00 pm on myTV38
