Texas takes down Alabama and snaps their home win streak

On Saturday night, No. 11 Texas Longhorns football beat Alabama 34-24 to snap the Crimson Tide's 21 home win streak at Bryant-Denny Memorial Stadium. Longhorns Sophomore quarterback Quinn Ewers was fantastic and played one of the best performances I have seen since Joe Burrow when he was at LSU. Ewers went 24 of 48 for 349 passing yards and three touchdowns. Steve Sarkisian, Texas' third-year coach, became just the third former Nick Saban assistant to beat the GOAT in the past three years.

The Longhorn's defense put pressure on the Alabama offense the entire game. This defense is outstanding, and I believe they challenge any team in the Big 12 conference and beyond.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe had finished the night with 299 yards of total offense, 255 passing yards, and a pair of touchdowns. But he struggled all game long. He couldn't extend plays as much, got sacked a lot, and had difficulty throwing the ball.

This loss was Alabama's first at home since Nov. 9, 2019 (when they lost 46-41 to then-No. 1 LSU), while it was the first time since Nov. 17, 2007, that the Tide had lost a non-conference home game (lost 21-14 to Louisiana-Monroe). The defeat ended their 21-game overall home-winning streak and snapped a streak of 43 consecutive home wins over non-conference opponents.
