U.S. Advances to the Men's Worlds Semifinal with a 3-0 win over Czechia


The U.S Men's hockey team beat Czechia 3-0 on Thursday in Tampere, Finland.


With the win over Czechia, the U.S. advances to the tournament semifinals against Germany Saturday.


Matt Coronato (Calgary Flames) found the back of the net on a spin move shot passed the goaltender for his 1st goal of the tourney to give Team USA a 1-0 lead.


Then, Nick Perbix (Tampa Bay Lightning) fired the puck past the goaltender's shoulder for his 1st goal of the tourney and gave the U.S. a 2-0 lead.


Finally, Cutter Gauthier (Boston College) wrapped up the scoring by striking from the right circle, passing the goaltender for his 1st goal of the tourney, and scoring 3-0.


U.S. Goaltender Casey DeSmith (Pittsburgh Penguins) earned his second tournament shutout. He had 15 saves on 15 shots.
