Yesterday, Katie Ledecky won the 1,500-meter freestyle swim at the world aquatic championships in Singapore.

She finished her swim with a time of 15 minutes and 26.44 seconds. With Tuesday’s swim, she owns 25 of the top 26 times in history in the 1,500. Her time was the fifth fastest, which was not far from her world record of 15:20.48 set in 2018.

It was her 22nd gold medal in a world championships and her 28th overall. Adding to this are her nine Olympic gold medals and 14 overall. If anyone is counting, she has 42 Olympic and world medals, including 31 gold.

Ledecky is one of a kind. One of the best Olympic athletes I have ever seen, since Michael Phelps. Keep an eye out for Ledecky, especially in the 2028 Summer Olympics in LA.
