Boston College Men’s/Women’s hockey and the Football team win on the same weekend


The Boston College Eagles football team defeated the Syracuse Orange 17-10 Friday night.


They become bowl-eligible with the win and will play in a bowl game this season. They have won five in a row and are making process.


BC Quarterback Thomas Castellanos went 20 of 37, 165 yards, and a touchdown while rushing for 87 yards and a score.


Their record is 6-3 (3-2 ACC).


BC Men’s Hockey beat Umass Lowell River Hawks 3-2 on Saturday night and completed the weekend sweep.


The No.1 Eagles scored a pair of power-play goals, carrying them to the win. Sophomore Cutter Gauthier and Freshmen Will Smith and Riley Leonard scored goals.


BC Women’s Hockey spilt their weekend series with the Maine Black Bears with a 4-2 win at Conte Forum on Saturday afternoon.


Senior Gaby Roy got the Eagles on the board with her 5th of the season. After Maine tied the game at 2-2, the Eagles responded. Junior Annaka Mettler added her 1st of the season to give her team the lead. Then, Freshman Sammy Taber got an empty net goal, her 1st to seal the win.
