Bruins beat Maple Leafs 4-2 and take a 2-1 series lead


On Wednesday night, The Bruins went into Game 3 and beat Toronto 4-2 to take a 2-1 series lead heading into Game 4 on Saturday night.

 

Toronto went up 1-0 in the 2nd period on a goal by Matthew Knies (1st). Trent Frederic tied the game at 1-1 on his 2nd goal of the playoffs.

 

Jake DeBrusk gave the Bruins the lead just 1:07 into the third on his third goal of the playoffs on the power play.

 

After the Maple Leafs tied the game at 2-2 on a goal by Tyler Bertuzzi, Bruins Captain Brad Marchand took over. He gave Boston a 3-2 lead on his 1st of the playoffs and then scored his 2nd goal on an empty net to seal the win.

 

They will prepare for Game 4 in Toronto on Saturday night to try to go up three games to 1 lead in the series.

 

The Bruins need to score on the power play, play solid defense, and hold the lead when they are up by a goal or two.
