Dylan Cease throws the second no-hitter in San Deigo Padres history with a 3-0 win over the Nationals

Dylan Cease threw his first career no-hitter against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park on Thursday, getting the 3-0 win.

Cease threw a career-high 114 pitches in a game, where he walked three and struck out nine.

He was at 94 pitches through seven innings. He would only need nine in the eighth and 11 in the ninth to complete the no-hitter.

Joe Musgrove pitched the Padre's first no-hitter against the Texas Rangers on April 9th, 2021. Houston Astros pitcher Ronel Blanco threw the only other no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays on April 1st.

Cease is one of my favorite pitchers in the league and is one of the favorites to win the National League Cy Young Award.
