Eagles complete the series sweep over UConn with a 2-1 victory



On Saturday, October 14, The Boston College Eagles Women’s hockey beat #15 UConn Huskies 2-1 to complete the series sweep after beating them on Friday afternoon 4-3 in overtime in their home opener at Kelly Rink.


UConn took the lead in the first period with a goal by Kathryn Stockdale at 12:18. Then, BC answered right back with two consecutive goals in the second to take a 2-1 lead.


Julia Pellerin got the scoring going for the Eagles with her 2nd goal of the season, a short-handed goal that came on a breakaway chance. Then, Katie Pyne gave Boston College the lead off a power play, adding her 2nd goal of the season.


BC goaltender sophomore Grace Campbell made 27 saves in the game and kept the Huskies from trying to tie the game.
