Hamilton and O’Neil help Boston in the 12th inning to lift the Sox over the Marlins 6-5

Antonio DiCesare

David Hamilton got an RBI groundout to start the 12th inning, and then Tyler O’Neil added an RBI double to give Boston the lead at 6-5.

Red Sox starter Nick Pivetta was terrific in this game, taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning before it was broken up by a two-out triple by Jesus Sanchez.

With the win, the Red Sox completed the three-game sweep of the Marlins. Now they will head down to Bronx, NY, for a three-game series with Aaron Judge and the Yankees.

Boston is third in the American League East and is on a four-game win streak. The Yankees have lost three games after their series with the Cincinnati Reds.
