Jonathan Toews will return to Chicago Next Season

Jonathan Toews will not return to Chicago Blackhawks next season, ending a successful run with three Stanley Cups Championships in 15 seasons.

General manager Kyle Davidson said on Thursday that the team would not re-sign its longtime center.

Chicago selected Toews with the No. 6 pick in the 2006 draft, one of the first markers in the team’s rise to the top of the NHL. He was 20 years old and became the 34th captain in team history in July 2008.

He has 372 goals and 511 assists in 1,067 regular season games- all with Chicago.

Here are some of his accomplishments:

- Won Three Stanley Cups (2010, 2013, 2015)

- 6x All-Star (2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017)

- 2010 Conn Smythe Trophy Winner

- 2013 Frank J. Selke Trophy winner

- 2015 Mark Messier Leadership Award

- Won Two Gold Medal with Canada in Winter Olympics (2010 Vancouver, 2014 Sochi)

- 2015 ESPY Best NHL Player

He is one of my favorite players in the NHL and in my top 10 best players list.
