Marlins Alcantara pitches 1:57 CG, his 1st of the season

The 2022 National League CY Young Award winner, Sandy Alcantara of the Miami Marlins, pitched the major league's first complete-game shutout, a three-hitter that led the Miami Marlins to a 1-0 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.

He stuck out five and walked one in a 1 hour, 57-minute game that was the shortest game of the season.

Alcantara threw 68 of his 100 pitches for strikes. He had bounced back after a 5 2/3 inning outing on opening day against the NY Mets in which he allowed three runs and walked four.

The game's only run came in the second inning when the Marlin's Avisail Garcia hit a home run, his 1st of the season.

Sandy Alcantara is one of my favorite pitchers in the game and is in my top 10 best pitchers list. He is one of my stars to watch out for this season.

Next Games: Wednesday, April 5th vs. Minnesota Twins W 5-2

A three-game series with the NY Mets starting on:

Thursday, April 6th @ NY Mets 1:10 pm on MLBN

Friday, April 7th @ NY Mets 4:10 pm

Saturday, April 8th @ NY Mets 1:40 pm
