The NFL Draft was in Cleveland, Ohio from April 29th - May 1st. It was nice to have fans back for the first time, considering last year’s draft was virtual. I would say the draft was exciting to watch. It was great to see my favorite players get drafted, such as Mac Jones of Alabama, Zach Wilson of BYU, Trey Lance of North Dakota State, Kyle Trask of Florida, Trevor Lawrence of Clemson, Etc.
Mac Jones was drafted 15th overall by the Patriots in the first round. In his career with the Crimson Tide, he had to wait until his Junior year to start a game. During his Senior year, he led the Crimson Tide to a national championship title. He was nominated for the Heisman Trophy, which goes to the best player in college football.
People are comparing Mac Jones to Tom Brady. They have similar playing styles such as shining in big moments in a game by stepping up and taking charge of the offense. Both are great leaders and have a passion for the game. In my opinion, Jones has a very good shot at challenging Cam Newton for the starting quarterback job.
For those of you who are looking forward to seeing how the results of this year’s draft will play out, the NFL is going to release the 2021 schedule on Wednesday, May 12th.
