No. 1 Wake Forest beats No.5 LSU in a thrilling game at the Men’s College World Series in Omaha


On Monday night, No. 1 Wake Forest Demon Deacons beat No. 5 LSU Tigers 3-2 in a thriller at Charles Schwab Field at the Men’s College World Series in Omaha, NE.


Bennett Lee gave Wake Forest the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning on an RBI single to left field, making the score 3-2.


Setting the table, Sophomore Danny Corona got his 10th double of the season with one out in the eighth inning.


Josh Hartle, starting Pitcher for Wake Forest, had a strong outing going six innings, allowing two runs, four hits, and nine strikeouts.


Wake next compete on Wednesday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, NE, and will face the winner of Tuesday’s evening game matchup between LSU and Tennessee.
