Northeastern beats Boston University in the Beanpot Semi-Final Game 2

Northeastern Men's Hockey beats the Boston University Terriers 3-1 in the second semi-final of the 2023 Beanpot at TD Garden.

Northeastern's Captain Aiden McDonough started the scoring with his 18th of the season and the second of his Beanpot career. He shot the puck right past the BU Goaltender to make it 1-0. They doubled their lead with a goal from Forward Jakov Novak, his 7th of the season and the first of his Beanpot career. He shot the puck off a rebound between his legs and backhanded it past the goalie to make it 2-0.

Boston University pulled the goalie for the extra attacker to try to get back in this game. Senior Matt Brown scored a goal, his 13th of the season, with 1:51 remaining in the 3rd period.

Then, Freshman Defenseman Hunter McDonald poked away the puck in the neutral zone and took it to the empty net, sealing the victory for Huskies. It was McDonald's first collegiate goal.

Northeastern will face Harvard in the Beanpot Championship Game on Monday, Feb. 13, 7:30 pm on NESN at TD Garden. They will have a chance to win their four title after winning three in a row (2018, 2019, 2020).

If Northeastern wat to win the Beanpot, they need to:

- Score early

- Create Turnovers

- Northeastern Captain Aiden McDonough has to play his game and lead his team

My Prediction if Northeastern should win:

Northeastern 4, Harvard 2
