Pastrnak scores in OT as the Bruins beat the Maple Leafs 2-1

The Boston Bruins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 in overtime on Thursday night at TD Garden.

Toronto got on the board first in the second period on a goal by Sam Lafferty, his 12th of the season to give the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead heading into the 3rd period.

Charlie Coyle scored the tying goal, his 14th of the season, to tie the game at 1-1 in the 3rd period.

In overtime, David Pastrnak scores his 57th goal of the season, the game-winner on the power-play to give the Bruins a 2-1 win over the Leafs.

With the win over Toronto, the Bruins notched their 61st victory of the season and are now one win off from the NHL record set by Detroit in 1995-96 and matched by Tampa Bay in 2018-19.

The 1976-77 Montreal Canadians hold the regular season record of 132 points.
