Red Sox beat Mariners to snap their losing streak to keep pace in the Wild Card

On Tuesday night, the Red Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 6-4 to snap their three-game losing streak and to keep pace in the American League Wild Card race.

Alex Verdugo had a big day, hitting a two-run home run, while Reese McGuire added his first home run. It was McGuire's first long ball since Sept.24, 2022. at Yankee Stadium

Christian Arroyo hit a key two-run double, part of Boston's three-run fourth inning. Boston Starter Brayan Bello had to work out of an early jam but was able to go six innings with seven strikeouts.

At the trade deadline, the Red Sox acquired infielder Luis Urias from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for minor league pitcher Bradley Blalock.

Hopefully, the Red Sox can make a run and try to get a Wild Card spot, at least.
