Red Sox beat Twins 9-3 as Alex Verdugo and Triston Casas each had a big day at the plate

On Monday night, The Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 9-3 in Game 1 of a three-game series at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN. They have won five in a row.

Alex Verdugo drove in four runs, three of them coming in the sixth inning when he tripled a fastball down the right-field line to score three runs, giving Boston the lead at 6-3.

Triston Casas hit a two-run homer (8th), and Jarren Duran added three doubles for Boston. James Paxton went 6 1/3 innings, three hits, and seven strikeouts.

Alex Cora notched his 400th career win as Boston’s manager.

If I had to vote on which players for Boston I would want to see in the All-star game, I would vote for Alex Verdugo, Rafael Devers, Kenley Jansen, and James Paxton.
