Red Sox win big against the Cincinnati Reds 8-2 to avoid being swept


Rafael Devers and the Red Sox beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-2 Thursday night at Fenway Park to avoid the sweep.


Chris Sale was pitching for the Sox and had to leave the game early with shoulder soreness. He went 3.2 Innings and struck out six.


Justin Turner got the Red Sox on the board with an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. Kike Hernandez hit a home run in the seventh to give the Sox the lead.


The Red Sox scored six runs in the 8th inning. Conor Wong had one of the runs thanks to a solo home run (6th) that went into the monster seats.
